Victor Wembanyama has became one of the faces of the NBA in his brief time in the league despite the fact that the Spurs haven’t had the success that they’re used to, but the Frenchman is drawing a lot of great praise from current and former basketball stars after San Antonio’s 4-0 start to the 2025 season.

Former NBA center and current ESPN personality Kendrick Perkins has high hopes for Wembanyama, who’s off to a phenomenal start to the year after averaging 31 points and 13.8 rebounds per game for the Spurs.
In fact, Perkins is so confident in Wemby’s abilities that he feels he could join the “GOAT conversation” alongside LeBron James and Michael Jordan once his career is all said and done. The France star has shown that he’s capable of dominating down low and outside the three-point arc, making him one of the most dangerous NBA stars to guard.
