This is a well-deserved contract extension for Hutchinson. This season with the Lions, he has recorded 16 tackles, six sacks, four forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, and one pass deflection. Hutchinson is only 25 years old. He could potentially be the front runner for the defensive player of the year award this season.
Detroit has a lot of young talent on its roster. With Hutchinson signing his contract extension, this team’s Super Bowl window should be open for a while now.
