During Monday Night Football’s broadcast, when the Kansas City Chiefs put on a demolishing 28-7 show against the Washington Commanders, the Hall of Fame quarterback openly suggested that Chiefs signal-caller receives preferential treatment from league officials.

Aikman Exposes What NFL Doesn’t Want You to Know About Patrick Mahomes Calls

The controversial comment came late in the fourth quarter when Commanders defensive tackle Jer’Zhan Newton was flagged for unnecessary roughness after wrapping up Mahomes near the eight-yard line and driving him backward before tossing him to the turf.

With Kansas City already up by three touchdowns, the penalty gave the Chiefs a fresh set of downs and sparked Aikman’s candid observation on national television.

“It wasn’t a lot, but with that said, when it comes to quarterbacks, especially this one, they’re gonna protect them,” Aikman said during the ESPN broadcast.

The emphasis on “especially this one” was something that you can afford to ignore. Aikman was calling out what millions of fans suspected years ago that Mahomes gets the benefit.

A UTEP study also dropped the same doubt like a bomb recently. The study read, “By analyzing more than 13,000 penalty calls from 2015 to 2023, researchers found that postseason officiating has disproportionately favored the Patrick Mahomes–era Kansas City Chiefs, coinciding with their rise as one of the NFL’s most marketable franchises…”

Aikman emphasized the same thing. He continued, “And Johnny does a great job. When he gets back there, it’s just a lot of frustration coming out on his part.”

Patrick Mahomes Admits He’s Got No Say at Home

Off the field, Patrick Mahomes is learning that being a two-time MVP doesn’t carry much weight at home. The Chiefs quarterback recently admitted he has no say in his family’s Halloween plans — Brittany Mahomes and the kids make all the decisions.

“We’ll be going trick-or-treating,” Mahomes said per Times of India. “My son picked our outfits… but honestly, I don’t even know yet. Brittany’s got us ready to go.”

This year, the Mahomes family went all-in on a zoo theme. Patrick dressed as a zookeeper, wearing a tan button-down uniform, cargo pants, tall work boots, and a bucket hat — complete with “Zookeeper” stitched across his chest.

Brittany sported a cozy tan kangaroo onesie with a hood and snout, plus a stuffed baby kangaroo tucked into her pouch as a nod to their baby on the way.

Halloween has become a fun tradition for the Mahomes family. The year before, they went viral for their 101 Dalmatians family costume, complete with their dogs dressed as spotted pups.

This year’s zoo theme proved once again that Brittany is the one running the show in-house when it comes to Halloween creativity, even though Pat has the Super Bowl ring.
