Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love takes home NFL honor for 3rd time in his career

The Green Bay Packers are 5-1-1 after their 35-25 victory over their former quarterback, Aaron Rodgers, and the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday Night Football. It was a game that, especially in the second half, saw big performances from several players on both sides of the ball lead Green Bay to victory in a place that they had not won since 1970.

Tight end Tucker Kraft, of course, set social media and sports talk networks ablaze with seven receptions for 146 yards and two touchdowns. Micah Parsons had a sack and Rashan Gary had two.

But it was quarterback Jordan Love, who has been under a microscope ever since being drafted to replace Rodgers, who shown the brightest.

On Sunday night, Love became the first quarterback in NFL history to have a streak of 20 consecutive completed passes, 360 passing yards, three touchdowns, no interceptions, and no sacks taken.

By the end of the night, he had completed 27 of his 39 passes for 360 yards and three touchdowns.

On Wednesday, he was named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week for the third time in his career:

Love previously won the award in Week 17 and Week 18 of the 2023 NFL season, his first as the Packers starting quarterback.

As fans may recall, Green Bay needed to win each of those final two games in order to reach the NFL Playoffs. Love completed 24 of 33 passes for 256 and three touchdowns against the Carolina Panthers in Week 17, leading the Packers to a 33-10 victory, and then followed that up with 27 completed passes on 32 attempts for 316 yards and two touchdowns in a 17-6 Week 18 victory over the Minnesota Vikings.

This is the second week in a row that a Packers player has earned a Player of the Week award. Micah Parsons was the NFC Defensive Player of the Week for Week Seven after his three-sack performance against the Arizona Cardinals.

So far this season, Love has a 70.9% completion percentage, 1,798 passing yards, 13 touchdowns, just two interceptions, and a 112.8 passer rating.
