Rhodri Giggs is preparing to walk down the aisle again, 14 years after his brother's devastating affair with his former wife.
The 49-year-old has been in a relationship with Victoria Phillips for more than a year and proposed earlier this month. The pair announced their engagement on Instagram this week, with Victoria sharing a snap of her dazzling ring alongside the caption: "18/10/2025."
Rhodri cheekily responded: "Couldn't say yes quicker enough. Thank you everyone, I agree she is very lucky." The duo were flooded with congratulatory messages following their announcement, including one from Coronation Street actor Andy Whyment, who commented: "Congratulations to you both."
This isn't the first occasion Rhodri's romantic life has grabbed headlines. In 2011, it emerged that his brother Ryan Giggs had been having an affair with his then-wife Natasha.
The betrayal, which stretched back to 2003, tore the Giggs family apart and eventually led to Rhodri and Natasha's divorce.

The secret relationship also took place behind the back of Ryan's then-spouse Stacey, who subsequently filed for divorce in 2017. Despite the betrayal, Rhodri has since patched things up with his brother and even acknowledged he benefited financially from the scandal.
Responding to a social media user about the affair earlier this year, Rhodri commented, according to GB News: "Mate, it was over 14 years ago and I've got two kids with someone else and made s*** load of money from it."
He went on: "I buzz off it. It was 14 years ago and I made about £1million from it. Can't be on X and not expect a little bit of shrapnel coming your way. All part of the fun."
Rhodri, who currently hosts a podcast and works in recruitment, hit the headlines when the scandal emerged in 2011. Giggs' younger sibling had also pursued a football career in the lower divisions, turning out for clubs like Salford and FC United before transitioning into coaching and ultimately leaving the game behind.

News of Rhodri's engagement arrives just after Giggs' brother launched a scathing attack on the Premier League's choice to exclude Ryan from their Hall of Fame shortlist last month. The Premier League announced on social media: "Home of the greats. Two more players will be voted into the Premier League Hall of Fame in 2025."
Spotting Ryan's absence from the nominations, Rhodri hit back with a montage of Giggs' Manchester United brilliance, posting: "13 Premier League medals and countless goals and the record number of Premier League assists. #TheShamHallOfFame."

Despite Giggs missing out on the shortlist, several of his former United teammates secured their places, including Patrice Evra, Teddy Sheringham, Michael Carrick, Nemanja Vidic, Edwin van der Sar and Michael Owen. The remaining spots went to Sol Campbell, Jermain Defoe, Cesc Fabregas, Les Ferdinand, Robbie Fowler, Eden Hazard, David Silva and Yaya Toure.

Ultimately, it was Neville and Hazard who secured their places for induction, with the Premier League announcing the latter's inclusion on Wednesday: "Eden Hazard, this is where you belong. Welcome to the Premier League Hall of Fame."
