Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson isn’t messing around anymore as a leader. After watching his team stumble to arguably the worst beginning in franchise history, the two-time MVP decided it was time to strip the locker room down to business.

While many assumed head coach John Harbaugh made the call to axe the locker room distractions, Jackson himself stepped up and confirmed he was the one who demanded the changes by removing ping-pong, other toys, and gaming instruments.

It has already been reported that the Ravens went through a locker room makeover after the team’s Week 4 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. Bears, before the week 8 match, took to social media to taunt the Ravens’ action in a promotional ad.
Amid the backlash, the franchise quarterback made it clear he wouldn’t let a losing streak define the Ravens’ season. Jackson told reporters Tuesday that he asked the team to remove the ping-pong table and other unnecessary distractions as soon as possible.
He said, “I told Kenico, our head equipment guy, I told him to take all the games, ping pong, turn the TVs off — if we could have taken out the TVs they’d have been out too. I appreciate Mr. Steve for putting that in for us but we had to focus.”

The truth came out when Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey revealed on his podcast that Lamar Jackson was the one who pushed for the locker room cleanup.
Team owner Steve Bisciotti had added the ping-pong table and other games to make the space more relaxed. But when the Ravens started losing and fell to third in the AFC North, Jackson decided it was time to get serious.
The move paid off right away. Baltimore snapped its four-game skid with a 30–16 win over the Bears on Sunday, scoring 30 points for the first time since Week 3. Fans quickly took to social media to praise Jackson for becoming a true leader.
Fans Praise Jackson’s Leadership While Others Question the Timing
Social media did not waste time reacting once the news broke that Jackson had pushed the staff for the locker room overhaul. Fans were split between praising his leadership and pointing out the double standard.
One fan wrote, “All these comments ‘Lamar is a leader’ but when people thought it was Harbaugh that removed that stuff it was a problem. Lol.”
Another fan added, “A true leader Jackson is. Eliminating the distraction so they can get back to winning and focus on winning the division.”
A third fan claimed, “Now all he gotta do is tell his boy to deactivate his account. Talking about ‘glizzy eating tours’ while the defense getting torched every game.”
The fourth penned, “They should use that as incentives, like when or if they get to .500, get one game back after each win.”
A fifth one suggested, “Can Lamar ask to take away the following as well? 1. Podcast equipment in Marlons house 2. Kyle Van Noy’s phone 3. Tell Kyle Hamilton to stop talking nonsense.”
The Ravens now sit at 2-5 heading into a difficult Thursday Night Football matchup against the Miami Dolphins. Jackson is expected to return from his hamstring injury.
With the AFC North still up for grabs, Jackson’s no-nonsense approach could be exactly what the Ravens need to turn their season around before it’s too late.
