After acquiring Micah Parsons before the regular season began, the stage could be set for the Packers to be one of the more aggressive teams across the NFL, ahead of the trade deadline.
In order to maximize Green Bay’s Super Bowl chances in 2025 and prop open the window for years to come, general manager Brian Gutekunst could be inclined to address some of the few additional holes to ensure trading for Parsons wasn’t for naught.

There are few needs remaining on the Packers’ roster, with cornerback and offensive line being two positions of concern that could use an infusion of veteran youth via a deadline deal.
However, ESPN’s Ben Solak suggests that bolstering the interior of the defensive line by acquiring veteran tackle Sebastian Joseph-Day in a move with the Titans could be a top priority and ideal fit for Green Bay.
“Titans defensive tackle Sebastian Joseph-Day,” Solak writes for ESPN. “The Packers are thin on the defensive interior after the departure of Kenny Clark in the Parsons trade, and Wyatt’s injury has served as a stark reminder of that vulnerability. Joseph-Day is a stout run defender on a one-year deal — perfect for patching one of the few remaining holes on a Super Bowl contender.”
Joseph-Day is a locker room-glue type of leader, and has been consistently productive player, who could upgrade Green Bay’s rushing defense, potentially replacing the snaps Clark used to occupy prior to this summer’s trade.
Through his first eight seasons, Joseph-Day has posted 14.5 career sacks, with 36.5 tackles for loss and two forced fumbles.
While Green Bay doesn’t own a first-round draft choice in next spring’s NFL Draft, flipping a mid-to-late round pick for a veteran such as Joseph-Day could yield a pretty significant upgrade along the front-seven.
