Bruno Fernandes has proved that he remains as mentally sharp as ever after a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment during Manchester United’s latest Premier League outing.
The Manchester United captain continued to operate from his deeper role in the Red Devils midfield and played the full 90 minutes against Brighton on the weekend.
Ruben Amorim started Bruno Fernandes alongside Casemiro in the two-man pivot and the two United midfielders each put in solid performances.

United hosted Brighton at Old Trafford on Saturday evening and the Red Devils were 2-0 up against the Seagulls at half-time thanks to Matheus Cunha and Casemiro.
The Red Devils extended their advantage in the second half after Bryan Mbeumo scored, but then Danny Welbeck pulled one back for Brighton from a free-kick.
Charalampos Kostoulas also netted for the Seagulls in injury time, but United were able to seal all three points after Bryan Mbeumo found the back of the net again.

What Bruno Fernandes did during Man Utd’s Premier League win vs Brighton shows he hasn’t lost his touch
The official Premier League account on Instagram posted footage of Bruno Fernandes during a key moment in Manchester United’s 4-2 victory over Brighton.
Brighton attempted to clear out the ball from their half deep into second-half injury time and the Seagulls’ clearance was intercepted by an onrushing Ayden Heaven.
Ayden Heaven produced a superb first-time pass and the ball was played through to Bryan Mbeumo, who smashed home his second of the Premier League contest.
During the Heaven and Mbeumo link-up on Saturday evening, Fernandes could initially be seen scanning for where the Red Devils’ summer signing was on the pitch.
The 31-year-old United midfielder then produced a subtle feint and Fernandes’ disguised action allowed Heaven’s ball to reach Mbeumo without being intercepted.

Bruno Fernandes’ moment of brilliance is backed up by Ruben Amorim’s verdict on Man Utd’s performance vs Brighton
United manager Ruben Amorim insisted that the Red Devils’ showing against Brighton was much better overall than his side’s 2-1 win over Liverpool at Anfield.
“I have that feeling. I think [it] was a more complete performance,” he said at his post-match press conference, as per Manchester United’s official website.
“You can say whatever you want to say against Liverpool, but they didn’t deserve to lose that game.”
Amorim added: “We deserve to win, but they didn’t deserve to lose. I think today, we did a little bit of everything.
“We had the ball, create chances, we defend high, we defend low. So, when it’s more complete, it’s not a statement, but I feel more complete also as a manager.
“So today I think I like today more than last weekend.”
United are sixth in the Premier League table and the Red Devils have beaten Sunderland, Liverpool and Brighton in their last three matches this season.
