Making amends: Enzo Maresca
Chelsea travel to Wolves looking to reach the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup. Enzo Maresca’s side come into this off the back of their last-minute home defeat by Sunderland over the weekend, where the Black Cats emerged from Stamford Bridge 2-1 victors. Chemsdine Talbi struck the winner in stoppage time after Wilson Isidor had cancelled out Alejandro Garnacho’s opener for the hosts.
The result moved Sunderland into second in the league table before other results came in, while the Blues are now ninth. Before that, Chelsea had been on a four-game winning streak that included thrashings of Nottingham Forest and Ajax, as well as victories over Premier League champions Liverpool and former boss Jose Mourinho’s Benfica.
Now, their attentions turn to domestic cup action, where they are hoping to reach the last eight. They eked past League One Lincoln City in the last round, while Wolves defeated Everton 2-0 to make it into the fourth round. This should be a cracking game, with both sides having something to prove. Follow along with our live blog below!
