Chelsea legend Eden Hazard has officially been inducted into the Premier League Hall of Fame after seven trophy-laden years in West London.
The former Belgium international is the 26th player to receive the honour, joining an exclusive list of football legends who have graced the Premier League over the years.
Hazard is also the latest Chelsea legend to be inducted into the Premier League Hall of Fame after Frank Lampard, John Terry, Didier Drogba, Petr Cech, and Ashley Cole.
The 34-year-old joined Chelsea from Lille after the Blues won the Champions League in 2012.
He wasted no time establishing himself in the Premier League with his nimble footwork and made it a habit of producing moments of pure magic.
Hazard made 245 Premier League appearances for Chelsea, scoring 85 goals and providing 57 assists en route to two league titles in 2014/15 and 2016/17.
Aside from his impressive numbers, Hazard’s flair, confidence, and creativity made him a nuisance to Premier League defenders and one of the most entertaining players to ever grace English football.
The Belgian forward was named Premier League Player of the Season in 2014/15 and was also voted the Blues’ Player of the Season four times during his seven-year spell at Stamford Bridge.
Hazard was nominated for the Hall of Fame alongside Cesc Fabregas two months ago.
Reacting to his induction, Hazard said: “It means a lot to join the Premier League Hall of Fame. I’m very proud to join this group of players, and I think we could make a good squad.
“Being recognised in this way is special for me and my family. My parents were both footballers, and now my children love the game too.”
Since his induction, Hazard has received plenty of praise from other club legends, including former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho, who celebrated his third league title with the Belgian in 2014/15.
“Eden, many congratulations on joining the Premier League Hall of Fame,” Mourinho said.
“Everybody knows that you belong there. You are one of the most amazing players that I ever worked with and of course you have to be there.
“You are in the Hall of Fame, so now you stay in our memories – and by the way, thank you so much for helping to win my last Premier League title.”
