Sting will headline a Super Bowl-branded concert two nights before the big game, amid controversy over Bad Bunny’s upcoming halftime show.

The NFL has announced that Sting will headline a Super Bowl-branded concert on February 6 at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco. The concert takes place two days before the Super Bowl kicks off at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, on February 8.

Sting’s performance will be part of the Super Bowl LX Studio 60 event, a weekend of “unforgettable music entertainment at one of San Francisco’s most iconic venues.”

Additional details are sparse, but there will be meet and greet opportunities with “NFL legends and current players.” A second night of festivities will occur at the same location the next night on February 7, but so far no performers have been announced. Tickets for Sting’s show start at $750.

News of Sting’s Super Bowl-branded performance comes in the wake of intense criticism of the NFL’s decision (alongside Roc Nation) to select Bad Bunny as the big game’s headlining halftime act. The decision has elicited some unusually severe reactions from conservative figures, including Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, House Speaker Mike Johnson, and President Trump.

Despite the controversy, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell defended the decision, announcing that he’s “confident it’s going to be a great show” come February. “I’m not sure we’ve ever selected an artist where we didn’t have some blowback or criticism,” said Goodell.

Sting isn’t a stranger to the Super Bowl. The English singer previously performed at the halftime show in 2003, co-headlining alongside Shania Twain and No Doubt.

Also in the Bay Area during Super Bowl weekend will be an unrelated performance by country star Chris Stapleton at San Francisco’s Bill Graham Civic Auditorium on February 7. Though the concert takes place the night before the Super Bowl, the performance is not affiliated, instead being hosted by the Bay Area Host Committee.

Meanwhile, the NFL announced last week that The Kid LAROI will headline Berlin’s 2025 halftime show on November 9. The performance will be staged on the Olympic Steps of the Olympiastadion for the game between the Atlanta Falcons and the Indianapolis Colts.
