Giannis Antetokounmpo is still with the Milwaukee Bucks, and is refusing to acknowledge any report that states he desires to be elsewhere.
Specifically, Antetokounmpo shut down any rumors that he wants to play for the New York Knicks. Over the offseason, reports had surfaced that the Knicks were a team Antetokounmpo would consider playing for should he have departed from Milwaukee. Ultimately, nothing came to fruition and Antetokounmpo remains with the Bucks — for now.
Antetokounmpo dismisses Knicks rumors following win
After the Knicks’ 121-111 defeat to Antetokounmpo’s Bucks, the two-time NBA MVP — who scored 37 points, grabbed eight rebounds and dished out seven assists in the win over New York — shut down any rumors regarding him potentially joining the Knicks.
“Who said that? I'm here representing my team. And that's it,” Antetokounmpo said. “We beat the Knicks. I didn't read that article, try to stay away from all the rumors.”
Antetokounmpo is having another incredible start to the season, averaging 36.3 points, 14.0 rebounds, and 7.0 assists through the team’s first four games as the Bucks are 3-1. Time will tell if Antetokounmpo truly becomes available for trade, but for now, it doesn’t seem to be a priority in the superstar’s mind.
