Karl-Anthony Towns struggles again, takes full blame for Knicks loss to Bucks

It’s been a struggle for Karl-Anthony Towns so far this season, and he’s taking full responsibility for the team’s latest defeat.

The Knicks lost to the Milwaukee Bucks 121-111 on Tuesday, and Town struggled mightily, scoring just eight points on 2-12 shooting with 12 rebounds and five fouls. It’s been a struggle in general for Towns — who is playing through a quad injury — so far this season, as he’s averaging just 17.0 points on 35 percent shooting from the field with 13.5 rebounds per game through the first four contests of the season. His performance combined with the knowledge of his injury has left many wondering just how bad his quad injury could be.

Towns takes responsibility for poor performance against Milwaukee

After the loss to Milwaukee, Towns took full blame for his team’s defeat.

“I gotta do whatever is needed to win,” Towns said. “I pressed a little bit too much today [in the second half]. I didn't do what we needed to do to win tonight. That's on me and I take full responsibility for that.”

Towns will have a couple of days to flush his most recent performance down the drain, and will look to bounce back on Friday when the Knicks take on the undefeated Chicago Bulls. The Knicks need Towns to figure it out soon, especially given his high usage rate in Mike Brown’s offense.
