Positive injury developments for Michael Penix Jr., several other Falcons

After enjoying relatively good injury luck to start the season, the Falcons have been hit hard in recent weeks — and it all came to a head against the Dolphins, when Michael Penix Jr., Divine Deablo, Jalon Walker, Billy Bowman Sr., Zach Harrison, and Drake London all missed the game.

That’s a lot to overcome against any opponent — as Sunday made painfully clear — and the challenge only gets tougher this week with a road matchup against the red-hot Patriots, who have won five straight.

However, Raheem Morris did offer some encouraging updates on several key players Wednesday. The Falcons head coach said he feels “really good” about Michael Penix Jr.’s progress and his chances of returning on Sunday.

He also sounded optimistic that Jalon Walker — who returned to practice today — Drake London, and Billy Bowman Jr. could all be available for what feels like a must-win game in New England to avoid dropping to 3-5.

Raheem Morris says Michael Penix Jr. remains day to day but “I feel good about him.” Says the QB feels better today than he did this time last week.
