One Stat Shows How Clutch Caleb Williams Has Been

The Chicago Bears have placed all of their hopes on Caleb Williams.

He has all the talent in the world, and he’s shown flashes of strong play since he was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.

So, even though he has also made his fair share of mistakes, there are more than enough reasons to be optimistic about him.

With that in mind, Bears Film Room analyst “Ficky” shared an interesting stat to prove just how good Williams has been in high-stakes situations.

“Caleb Williams has the No. 1 passer rating in the NFL on 3rd/4th down with 4-12 yards to go. 144.8 passer rating. Clutch when it matters the most,” he wrote on X.

Of course, Williams still has a long way to go to live up to the hype.

He proved to be still quite raw with his late-game interception in the Week 8 loss to the Baltimore Ravens, and his decision-making could be much better at times.

But it’s hard to ignore that his rookie season was ultimately a waste.

Matt Eberflus wasn’t the right head coach to develop a quarterback.

Playing behind a terrible offensive line didn’t help either.

This is essentially his rookie season all over again, so to speak, and the early results of his partnership with head coach Ben Johnson are promising.

It’s never wise or accurate to give up on a young quarterback this early in their career.

If anything, the Bears need to remain invested in their possible franchise QB.

With the proper guidance, his talent and work ethic, it shouldn’t be much longer before he fulfills his destiny as a potential superstar.
