Seahawks' Julian Love faces setback in injury recovery

The Seattle Seahawks will be traveling to Washington, D.C., in the week following their bye to take on an injury-riddled Commanders team.

Seattle will look to win their third straight contest in the Sunday matchup. Despite having a defensive secondary that has struggled with injuries this season, the Seahawks have managed to stay competitive in the NFC West.

Injuries continue to trouble the Seahawks even after the bye week. Safety Julian Love is still trying to work his way back from a hamstring injury he suffered in September.

Seahawks' Julian Love faces setback in injury recovery, status for Week 9 uncertain

Seattle Seahawks safety Julian Love suffered a hamstring injury that has lingered throughout the 2025 season. He attempted to come back after discovering the injury in Week 3, but the setback has kept him from playing in four games so far this season.

On Wednesday, head coach Mike Macdonald revealed that the 27-year-old had a setback with the lower-body injury, resulting in him missing practice. His status for Week 9 against the Commanders is uncertain.

Appearing in three games this season, Love has 18 total tackles, two pass breakups, and one sack.

With this news, there's a chance that Love could miss his fifth game of the season for Seattle. If he's unable to go, expect rookie safeties Ty Okada and Nick Emmanwori to help replace the veteran defensive back.
