“His Locker Is Already Cleaned Out” Eagles Trade Away 29-Game Weapon After Win Over Giants

Fresh off their Super Bowl 59 victory, the Philadelphia Eagles are 6-2 through their first eight games of the year. That currently puts them first in the NFC East and second in the NFC Conference. However, it would appear the team is done with one of their pass catcher.

In the wake of the Eagles’ win over the Giants, they trade away WR John Metchie III

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter:

Trade: Jets are sending CB Michael Carter and a 2027 7th-round pick to the Eagles in exchange for WR John Metchie and a 2027 sixth-round pick, per sources.

Eagles DC Vic Fangio said this week they’ve discussed moving Cooper DeJean to outside corner, and trading for Carter would allow them to do that.

The Jets signed Michael Carter II to a 3-year, $30.75M deal in 2024, which at the time made him the highest-paid slot corner in the NFL.
