Forget Frank Lampard, John Terry claims Eden Hazard is Chelsea’s greatest-ever player in tribute

Former Chelsea star John Terry has hailed Eden Hazard as one of the greatest-ever players for the Blues, snubbing some old teammates in the process.

It comes as the 34-year-old has been inducted into the Premier League Hall of Fame as one of the latest to be recognised for their achievements in the division.

Eden Hazard joins other former Chelsea stars such as John Terry, Ashley Cole, Frank Lampard, Petr Cech and Didier Drogba in the Hall of Fame.

John Terry praises Eden Hazard after Premier League Hall of Fame induction

With Eden Hazard being inducted into the Premier League Hall of Fame, tributes have started pouring in for his playing career at Stamford Bridge.

John Terry was among those who surprisingly snubbed the likes of Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba to name the Belgian international as the greatest-ever player at Chelsea.

He said: “It was a joy to play with you, and in my personal opinion, you are Chelsea’s greatest ever player. In terms of pure ability and having someone like you in our team, it was a dream come true.

“It’s players like you that excite supporters, excite the players on your team, and petrify the opposition as well.

“I love you to bits and I know all the Chelsea fans do. It was a joy to play with you and share many of these trophies, and I’ve got a few of these trophies because of players like you.

“So a big thank you and a huge congratulations.”

It may be something of a surprise call, given the talent that Terry played alongside during his 19-year stay in the senior team.

However, Hazard’s quality at Chelsea was unquestionable and his quality has now been recognised.
