The San Francisco 49ers are 5-3 heading into Week 9, and with less than a week to go until the trade deadline, there is a lot of speculation over what the 49ers will do.
They could look to add more pass rush help other than Keion White, or a linebacker to replace the injured Fred Warner. But, wide receiver hasn't been off the table due to all of the injuries the position has sustained this season.
Underdog NFL shared a quote from Kyle Shanahan on some recent 49ers trade rumors, but not the ones most would expect. Shanahan shut down any notion that a Jauan Jennings trade could be on the table for the 49ers this season.

"I would be very surprised if Jauan wasn't on our team throughout this year," Shanahan said.

The 49ers' offense has been banged up all year, and Jennings hasn't been spared either. He's dealt with a high and low ankle sprain, on top of five broken ribs.
He's played through those injuries, only missing two weeks so far this season. In the year, he has 212 receiving yards and one touchdown on 18 receptions.
Jennings signed a two-year, $15.39 million extension through the 2025 season, and he'll be a free agent after this season for the 49ers. If they were a worse team, he might be a clear trade candidate.

But, with the 49ers still very much in the NFC West division race, there's little reason to move on from Jennings, especially with the injuries to Ricky Pearsall and Brandon Aiyuk.
Through five seasons in San Francisco, Jennings has 173 receptions for 2,150 yards and 14 touchdowns. He's coming off a career year in 2024, where he caught 77 passes on 113 targets for 975 yards and six touchdowns, all career highs for the veteran receiver.
The 28-year-old receiver is someone who could be moved at the deadline if the 49ers were worse, but as Shanahan revealed, the team has no plans to move on from him this season.
