No one is more confident around the Philadelphia 76ers right now than V.J. Edgecombe.
And to the fullest extent, the rising rookie sensation is convinced that they’ve got what it takes to win it all.
Appearing on Inside the NBA, Edgecombe boldly proclaimed that he and the 76ers will be the NBA champions if Joel Embiid can stay healthy throughout the course of the 2025-26 season.
"With big fella [Joel Embiid] back out there, I think we're gonna win the chip if you ask me," Edgecombe said, "I don't care what anyone got to say though."

Embiid notably underwent a challenging run from last year, appearing for just 19 games as he dealt with left knee issues that required him to undergo surgery last April.
The former league MVP missed the team's opening night, but appeared for the next three games as he's averaging 16.3 points, 5.0 boards and 3.7 assists in 21 restricted minutes.
Despite Embiid's limited play, the 76ers are on a surprise roll to go for a hot 4-0 start. Edgecombe is going off for one of the most exciting runs as a rookie as he's tallying 22.3 points, 5.8 boards and 5.5 assists.
Meanwhile, Tyrese Maxey has been the driving force of the Sixers’ blazing season beginnings, averaging major numbers of 37.5 points and 8.3 dimes.
It might still be too early, but there's definitely something special about the Sixers right now. If Embiid ultimately recovers, and once Paul George finally returns, the sky's the limit for the entire group to succeed and compete at the highest level.
