Adams joined AFC Bournemouth in August 2023, but he saw his first season with the club hugely disrupted by injury.

That has seen the American cement his spot in the Bournemouth side at the start of this season, starting every league game.
Reflecting on where he currently is with his form and fitness, Adams said: “It's difficult when you start your career at a new club injured for almost a full season, no one knew what I was really capable of unless they went on YouTube and watched highlights of what I did.
“And for me, I never lost belief in my ability.

“Getting a run of games, I know I'm one of the best players in the league at what I do. So now I have that run of games.
“Now I have the confidence in my body to go out there every single week and do that. So, yeah, it's just about balance for me. I'm patient, waited for my opportunity and I'm doing what I do best.”
Getting those minutes under his belt will be particularly key for firstly the Cherries’ season, but also with half an eye on next summer’s home World Cup for Adams.
The midfielder opted out of the most recent international break as his wife gave birth, but he looks set to be a part of Mauricio Pochettino's plans for the US men’s national team for the tournament.
Asked about the prospect of building up to that competition, Adams said: “I’m pleased to get the minutes in the legs but it's going to be a lot different World Cup.
“Qatar was nice, playing in stadiums with air conditioning, the US is going to be a different animal so we’ve got to be ready for it.”
