Giannis Antetokounmpo is on fire to start the 2025-26 NBA season, leading the Milwaukee Bucks to a 3-1 start. The two-time MVP has been vocal about wanting to win at the highest level again, so this isn’t too surprising. And if the team is doing well, that’s good news for the Bucks, as it means that Giannis won’t push to leave.
Throughout the offseason, rumors that the Greek Freak would move on were rampant. The Golden State Warriors, New York Knicks, and even the Los Angeles Lakers were named as potential destinations. And while Antetokounmpo stayed, he’s never shut down the possibility of a move away. But in their latest win against the New York Knicks, that seemed to change.

“This is my city, I ain’t f***ing leaving you,” Giannis seemingly said, after a huge bucket as he led the Bucks on a mini-comeback against the Knicks in the 3rd quarter. This is what Bucks fans want to hear, obviously. Antetokounmpo’s potential departure would put the team into a long-term rebuilding phase moving forward.

The Greek Freak had 37 points, eight rebounds, seven assists, and two blocks on the night against the Knicks. Milwaukee won 121-111, and Giannis ensured they would in just 33 minutes of action. His averages through the first four games are a stunning 36.3 points, 14.0 rebounds, and 7.0 assists per game. Bucks fans are praying he meant what he said.
