The Packers pulled off one of the more complete victories of the season, across the league, toppling Aaron Rodgers and the AFC North leading Pittsburgh Steelers, 35-25 on Sunday night, showcasing Green Bay’s winning formula.
Tight end Tucker Kraft’s breakout season continued, Micah Parsons wreaked havoc in the game’s biggest moments, late in the fourth quarter, and wide receiver Christian Watson’s 83-yard performance in his return from a torn ACL inspired confidence that the best days might be to come this season, for the Packers’ offense.
A signature win in tow, the Packers are widely viewed among the teams to beat, now, in the NFC.

Over at Pro Football Focus, Thomas Valentine vaulted the Packers up to the No. 1 spot in this week’s NFL power rankings, with only the Kansas City Chiefs ahead of Green Bay, as head coach Matt LaFleur’s team continues to be among the most consistent in the league.
“After a slow start, the Packers hit their stride in the fourth quarter,” Valentine writes of Green Bay, for PFF. “Burying any chance of Aaron Rodgers exacting revenge over his former team on Sunday night as Jordan Love completed a franchise-record 20 straight passes, earning an 81.2 overall PFF grade. The Packers are now 5-1-1, have won three consecutive games and are third in offensive EPA per play. They’ve often, fairly, been accused of playing down to inferior opponents, but the Steelers provided stout opposition on Sunday night.”
Perhaps more impressively, and even more noteworthy for the Packers, is that Green Bay now has not just a 91% chance of making the postseason, according to Pro Football Focus’ metrics but a 10% chance of winning the Super Bowl.
The Packers’ aggressiveness before the season, adding Micah Parsons in a blockbuster trade, and getting healthy at key spots at the right time, could wind up fueling a legitimate run at a championship.
