The Green Bay Packers fed off the sensational performance of star quarterback Jordan Love in Week 8 to score their fifth win in the 2025 NFL regular season.
Behind the incredible showing by Love, the Packers defeated Aaron Rodgers and the Pittsburgh Steelers on the road, 35-25.
Facing his former teammate and ex-Green Bay franchise face in a quarterback duel, Love bested Rodgers, as he passed for 360 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions, while also shattering a personal record for a new career-high of 134.2 passer rating. With that, Love was named the NFC’s Player of the Week for Week 8.
On Monday, Lovegot a big praise from head coach Matt LaFleur.
“I thought it was really impressive because he was making some high-level throws down the field,” LaFleur, said (via Wes Hodkiewicz of Green Bay’s website). “We were pushing the ball from early on in the game down the field. We didn’t connect on a couple of those, but I thought all in all, he did a great job. He was in complete command of the game, made a couple of off-schedules. He played really, really well.”
Moreover, Love’s Player of the Week win also comes on the heels of Micah Parsons earning the NFC Defensive Player of the Week for Week 7.

Parsons, who had three sacks in the Packers’ Week 7 win over the Arizona Cardinals, only had a sack against the Steelers, but he clearly doesn’t mind much about it, as Green Bay got the win nonetheless.
It is on to the next one for Green Bay, who will take on the Carolina Panthers this coming Sunday at Lambeau Field.
