Yoane Wissa was pleased to see Nick Woltemade continue his fine run of form for Newcastle United on Wednesday night.
Woltemade scored again as Newcastle United beat Tottenham 2-0 to progress into the Carabao Cup quarter-finals.
Newcastle’s club-record signing has now scored in every competition he’s played in for the Magpies and his tally stands at an impressive six goals in 11 games.
The towering German nodded in Joe Willock’s cross to double Newcastle’s advantage after Fabian Schar’s opener.
With Wissa injured, Woltemade is carrying the goalscoring burden and his fellow summer signing has been impressed.

After the game, Woltemade took to social media platform Instagram.
He captioned a collage of images of himself celebrating: “On a mission.”
Wissa, who will be hoping to join the German on the pitch soon, replied with: “Oh Yeah.”

When Yoane Wissa could finally play for Newcastle United
Woltemade has done a brilliant job in keeping Newcastle afloat in Wissa’s absence. Initially, it seemed as if Wissa would be the one to play straight away while Woltemade adapted to life in a new country.
Injury, however, stopped that from happening. Wissa is expected to make his Newcastle debut in November, having injured his knee while playing for DR Congo back in September.
Even when he does return, however, the striker will need some time to get back up to speed. Wissa opted out of Brentford’s pre-season in order to force a move away and is now playing catch-up as a result.
That doesn’t mean he will not play over the next few weeks when he finally does return, just that it’s not reasonable to expect the very best of him until he’s had a few games under his belt.
It’s a problem Alexander Isak is enduring at Liverpool. Hopefully, Wissa manages it better than him…
