Jamie Gittens scored Chelsea’s fourth goal in their thrilling 4-3 win against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night.
By doing so, the winger helped the Blues make a bit of history in English football.
It was Andrey Santos who got Chelsea off to a great start after scoring in the fifth minute before goals from Tyrique George and Estevao Willian made it 3-0.
It was Santos’ best game in a blue shirt, while Gittens did not do too badly either, to say the least. However, the 21-year-old and his teammates were given a scare after David Moller Wolfe’s brace and Tolu Arokodare’s strike almost saw Wolves mount a comeback.
Chelsea’s four different scorers vs Wolves make history
Gittens, Santos, Estevao and George are all 21 or younger, with Enzo Maresca putting out a very young team at Molineux.
With that quartet all managing to get their names on the scoresheet, it means Chelsea are the first Premier League club in history to have four different goalscorers aged 21 or below in a single match in any competition.
After a shock 2-1 defeat to Sunderland, Maresca’s men really needed that, though they made things very difficult for themselves in the second half.
Of course, they were not helped by Liam Delap’s red card, which was their sixth of the season if you include Maresca’s in the 2-1 victory over Liverpool.
After the full-time whistle, Maresca slammed Delap for getting sent off, claiming that the striker was only thinking about himself when he came on.
Gittens’ performance, though, is at least one positive that the Chelsea manager will be able to take away from the game.

Jamie Gittens’ impressive stats in Wolves win
Gittens put up some very good numbers at Molineux; his goal is not the only thing that Maresca will be pleased about.
For example, to go with his wonderful strike and two assists, the England Under-21 international also completed three key passes and created one big chance, according to Sofascore.
He attempted 12 dribbles as well, completing five of them. His wing play on the night was absolutely devastating.
