Opinion: Everton must listen carefully as Thomas Frank shares 'big' Richarlison message

Tottenham Hotspur manager Thomas Frank’s comments after their loss on Wednesday will be of interest to those at Everton.

There is no doubting that Everton are in serious need of some attacking quality in the January transfer window.

David Moyes finds himself struggling to squeeze any goals out of his two strikers, who are failing to impress in these early stages.

Everton News understands that Richarlison would be keen on a return to Everton at some point next year.

The Brazil international was back in action from the start on Wednesday evening for Spurs in their Carabao Cup defeat against Newcastle United.

Everton fans gave Richarlison a warm welcome back to Merseyside at the weekend, but he was not offered the same reaction by his own fans on Tyneside.

After watching him in action against the Magpies, Frank shared a very clear message about Richarlison in his post-match interview.

What Thomas Frank said about Everton target Richarlison

It is believed that Richarlison is on Everton’s radar ahead of the upcoming transfer windows as Spurs consider his future.

The Brazil international will have his eyes set on making Carlo Ancelotti’s squad for the World Cup next summer.

However, Frank was left far from impressed by the former Everton man’s display on Tyneside in the Carabao Cup.

“I think the big thing is you need to arrive in the right positions and Richarlison did that today, but sometimes half a second too late, or lacking of timing,” he said.

“That can be confidence or whatever it is that you keep arriving and your time will come.”

Richarlison has been slammed as ‘miserable’ when playing for the north London outfit in recent weeks.

Although he has scored three goals in the Premier League, his place has come under scrutiny recently, with his spot in the starting XI at risk.

The Brazilian had some golden opportunities to score on Wednesday, but Frank clearly feels he was just not sharp enough to get on the end of the crosses.

Everton need a striker who is ready to hit the ground running

Richarlison’s lack of confidence could be restored on Merseyside in front of a crowd who adore him.

After the game on Sunday, Richarlison shared a post about his potential return to Everton through his social media.

The 28-year-old is certainly playing like a player who needs a lift in his confidence.

However, Everton also need a striker who is going to take no time in finding his shooting boots if they are to add another player.

Richarlison had a lot of golden opportunities to score on Wednesday evening and he was unable to take any of them.

Everton are left needing to make a decision with their head rather than their heart when it comes to Richarlison.
