Super Bowl-winning punter Dustin Colquitt has said he “would love” to work with Harry Kane if the NFL-loving Bayern Munich and England forward ever decided to make the switch to American football.

Kane has made no secret of his love of America’s biggest team sport, and met two-time Super Bowl winner Eli Manning when the former New York Giants quarterback attended Bayern’s 4-0 win over Werder Bremen on Matchday 5 this season.
Asked whether Kane, 32, could make a successful transition to the NFL as a kicker or punter, Manning replied: “Of course he could do it.”
And Colquitt, who lifted the Vince Lombardi trophy with the Kansas City Chiefs at Super Bowl LIV, is just as positive about Kane’s potential future career, even offering to help get him up to speed with the demands of being a modern-day NFL punter.

“I think he’d be fantastic. I’ve seen some of his finishing skills, and I would love to actually work with him,” Colquitt, who retired earlier this year, told the BBC. “Just because, first of all, I’m a big football fan, I love American soccer, like love, love, love. And just his excitement. He’s seeking us out, I believe, I think it’s just a fibre of his being. He wants to try this NFL thing, so when he’s ready, I’m ready.”
Kane has hit the ground running in the 2025/26 campaign, and has already netted a league-high 12 goals, double what any other Bundesliga player has managed. He remains one of the game’s finest forwards, but has previously admitted that following in the footsteps of the likes of former Borussia Dortmund goal-getter Manfred Burgsmüller is a possibility.
“I’ve been following the NFL for about ten years, and I love it,” said Kane, who is a friend of record seven-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback Tom Brady. “It’s at least something that I have in the back of my mind. I have the feeling that I still have a lot of years left as a footballer, but a lot of things can happen, things can change so quickly. As I get closer to the end of my football career, I might take a closer look and start practising a bit.”
