**WhoScored?, the football stats site, have released their Team of the Round after the Carabao Cup fifth round concluded last night.**
Newcastle United booked their place in the quarter-final draw by beating Tottenham Hotspur under the lights at St James' Park last night, and their reward was another home tie, this time against Saturday's defeated opponents, Fulham.
It was a solid performance all round from Eddie Howe's much-changed Mags last night, and even though Joe Willock and Anthony Elanga frustrated the life out of me, I can't be too hard on them because both did have their moments. Willock bagged an assist after all.
Sandro Tonali put in a Player of the Match performance, Aaron Ramsdale put the pressure on Nick Pope after a quality display, and Fabian Schar and Nick Woltemade got themselves on the scoresheet. Plenty to be happy about.

WhoScored?'s Team of the Round
Newcastle had three players in WhoScored.com's Team of the Round
----------------------------------------------------------------
Newcastle's top performance was reflected in [WhoScored?](https://www.whoscored.com/)'s Team of the Round, with three Mags making it into the team. WhoScored's selections are based on which player across the games picked up the highest rating overall for each position.
Aaron Ramsdale, Fabian Schar and Nick Woltemade all made the cut, but the Player of the Match, Sandro Tonali, missed out.
The midfield was packed with players who picked up insanely high scores, with Brentford's Mathias Jensen and Crystal Palace midfielder Yeremy Pinto beating Newcastle's Italian maestro to the available spots.
Sandro Tonali's performance wasn't good enough to be selected
-------------------------------------------------------------
Tonali's WhoScored? A rating of 8.1 wasn't anywhere near enough to nab him a spot in the midfield, with Jensen picking up a 9.3 and Pino being handed 9.1.
Still, three Newcastle players in the Team of the Round is a good look.
Things are definitely starting to click for Newcastle, especially when you bear in mind that it was nowhere near the preferred starting XI last night. Good times are coming.
