Further details of AS Roma’s interest in Nottingham Forest forward Arnaud Kalimuendo have emerged.
The 23-year-old was identified as a top January target for Roma earlier this month. He only moved to the City Ground in the summer but he could be on the move again soon.
Kalimuendo has made eight substitute appearances in the Garibaldi since joining the Reds from Rennes in August. He got his first run-out under new head coach Sean Dyche last weekend when he came off the bench late on during the 2-0 defeat to Bournemouth.
Dyche brought Kalimuendo on in the 89th minute on the south coast. It was the Frenchman’s first minutes for the best part of a month, since he featured against Sunderland on September 27.
Amid his lack of game time Trentside, Roma are said to be keen on the Forest man. But it appears they have a decision to make over whether to swoop for him when the winter transfer window opens.
According to Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport, Kalimuendo is not the only attacker Roma are eyeing up. Manchester United’s Joshua Zirkzee is said to also be on the club’s radar as they look to address a ‘crisis’ at the top end of the pitch.
Roma are apparently unlikely to target both Kalimuendo and Zirkzee in January. It remains to be seen which player they decide to set their sights on.

The Italian outfit, who are struggling for goals, are ‘keeping an eye’ on the duo. A loan move, potentially with an option to buy included in any deal, seems the most likely route for bringing either player in.
Corriere dello Sport add both players ‘would like to leave’ the Premier League in search of more minutes. Roma are said to recognise there is ‘no time to waste’ when it comes to working on attacking reinforcements.
Forest reportedly paid an initial £26 million to sign Kalimuendo a few months ago. He was one of 13 signings made by the club during the summer window.
The attacker made five appearances for Dyche’s predecessor, Ange Postecoglou. Nuno Espirito Santo, who started the season in the hot seat, utilised Kalimuendo on two occasions.
