📈 Breece Hall
Ahead of the Jets' Week 8 victory over the Bengals last Sunday, RB Breece Hall told his coaches he wanted to touch the ball "at least 20 times" to help make up for the absence of New York's other star offensive weapon, WR Garrett Wilson, who was out with a knee injury.
"I went to the coaches over the weekend, not complaining, but letting them know I need the ball," Hall said. "I always told them I hate losing, and if we lose, I want it to be on me. We pride ourselves on running the ball and we ran the ball really efficiently."
Hall got what he asked for and produced his best game of the season in the 39-38 victory.
The fourth-year tailback totaled 18 carries and 2 receptions, and produced 147 scrimmage yards, 2 rushing touchdowns and threw a touchdown to TE Mason Taylor. Hall now ranks seventh in the NFL in total scrimmage yards (759) and sixth in rushing yards (581) this season.
📈 Armand Membou & Olu Fashanu
The Jets offensive tackles, Armand Membou on the right and Olu Fashanu on the left, played a combined perfect game Sunday against the Bengals. Across 40 pass block snaps, the duo allowed 0 sacks, 0 pressures and 0 QB hits, according to Pro Football Focus.
Fashanu went against All-Pro edge Trey Hendrickson primarily in the first half and did not allow him within 2.5 yards of QB Justin Fields over 13 pass rush snaps. And in the run game, the Jets rushed for a season-high 254 yards on 37 attempts (6.9 yards per carry). Fashanu and Membou, both under 23 years old, received the highest run-blocking grade on the team among the starting offensive linemen in the game.
