Harry Kane scored twice as Bayern Munich recorded the greatest-ever start to a season in Europe's top five leagues with a 4-1 win over Cologne.
The England captain helped inspire Vincent Kompany's men to a 14th straight victory of the campaign in the German Cup on Wednesday.

Kane has scored in almost every game during Bayern's record-breaking start
Bayern have won every game the club have played in the cup, alongside the Bundesliga and Champions League so far in 2025-26.
Their latest win over Cologne surpassed AC Milan's historic mark of 13 victories at the start of the 1992-93 campaign.
During Bayern's record-breaking run, Kane has scored two hat-tricks and six braces, only failing to score in two of the club's 14 matches.
Just as impressively, the Bavarians achieved the feat despite falling behind in a game for the first time since July.

Ragnar Ache's 31st-minute header had put Cologne ahead, but within seven-minutes later, Bayern Munich had turned the game on its head.
Former Liverpool star Luis Diaz equalised for the Bundesliga champions, before Kane's curling strike on the turn added a second.
Three Lions skipper Kane brought his tally to 22 goals in 14 games with another after the break, before Michael Olise scored as well.
"It's funny sometimes -- at the end of the game I asked someone if Harry scored today, and he said 'yes, two goals'," Kompany told Germany's ARD.
"Sometimes you don't even notice it, because of all the other stuff he does for the team."
Bayern Munich now stand alone as the team to have recorded the most successive wins to start a season in Europe's top-five leagues.

Bayern Munich — 14 wins in a row (2025-26)
Bayern raced out of the blocks by becoming the Franz Beckenbauer Supercup champions after downing Stuttgart 2-1 in August.
Kompany's side put down a marker with a 6-0 win in their Bundesliga opener against RB Leipzig, who are now second in the table.
Bayern are the only team in Germany's top-flight with a perfect record after eight rounds, with 30 goals scored and four conceded.
They are also joint top of the league phase table of the Champions League with PSG, with an identical goal difference of 10.
Bayern thrashed Chelsea 3-1 on matchday one, before battering Pathos 5-1 and securing a comfortable 4-0 win over Club Brugge.

Milan — 13 wins in a row (1992-93)
Fabio Capello's AC Milan have now finally surrendered their long-standing record after 30 years.
The Italians started the 1992/93 season with a 2-1 Super Coppa Italia win over Parma, and then recorded six wins in Serie A, three in the Coppa Italia, and three in the Champions League.
Their epic run finally came to an end with a goalless draw at their San Siro home against Torino at the start of November.
Milan's first defeat didn't come until March as Parma secured revenge for the Super Coppa Italia with a 1-0 away win in Serie A.
That was one of just two losses in the league the Rossoneri suffered, but they were beaten in the Coppa Italia semi-finals by Roma, and then endured Champions League final heartbreak following a 1-0 defeat to Marseille.

Real Madrid (1961-62/ '68-69) — 11 wins in a row
Los Blancos are joint-third with Tottenham Hotspur and Borussia Dortmund for starting a new campaign with 11 straight victories.
However, the Spanish giants are ahead by virtue of achieving the feat on two separate occasions in the 1960s.
The first came in the 1961-62 campaign, which saw Real Madrid come within one game of clinching its first-ever treble.
Yet Miguel Munoz's men were defeated by Benfica in the European Cup final and had to settle for a domestic double triumph instead.

Six years later, Madrid replicated their own record of securing 11 successive victories to start a new campaign en route to lifting their 14th LaLiga title and second three-peat.
That Madrid side lost just once in 38 fixtures - a 1-0 defeat to Elche in April 1869, three games before the end of the season.
That makes it all the more surprising that their run was ended by a shock 1-0 loss in the European Cup by Austrian side Rapid Wien.
That preceded their Round of 16 exit via the away goals rule following a 2-1 victory in the second leg.

Spurs (1960-61) — 11 wins in a row
Tottenham last lifted the English top flight under Bill Nicholson’s double-winning team over 60 years ago.
The Lilywhites started with 11 straight wins in the old First Division - which remains a record in this country; Chelsea’s nine wins at the outset of the 2005-06 season is the best in the Premier League era.
Spurs finally dropped points in a 1-1 draw against Manchester City at home, but reeled off another four wins to make it 16 unbeaten.
The north London outfit were finally on the losing side at Sheffield Wednesday, following a 2-1 loss at Hillsborough on November 12.
Ironically, it would be their reunion with the Owls that saw Tottenham clinch the title by beating Wednesday in April 1961.
The reigning Europa League holders completed the double by winning the FA Cup Final against Leicester City a month later.

Borussia Dortmund (2015-16) — 11 wins in a row
Bayern added insult to injury by matching Dortmund's record of 11 straight wins with their 2-1 victory in Der Klassiker earlier this month.
Thomas Tuchel can still take pride of the work he did at BVB a decade ago, even though his side ultimately failed in their pursuit of glory.
Dortmund sailed through two rounds of two-legged playoffs to qualify for the Europa League at the start of the 2015-16 season.

The Germans then kicked off the competition proper with a 2-1 win over Krasnodar en route to their eventual quarter-final exit to Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool.

Dortmund had built on their early Europa League success with a victory against Chemnitzer FC in their DFB-Pokal opener.
The club also won their first five Bundesliga matches before enduring a three-match winless run capped by a 5-1 loss to Bayern.
Another injury time winner for Liverpool, this time from Dejan Lovren, whose goal sent the Reds through to the Europa League semi-finals.
