Chelsea set for reunion with old nemesis in Carabao Cup quarter-finals, he's already laughing about it

Chelsea made it to the Carabao Cup quarter-finals on Wednesday night after beating Wolverhampton Wanderers 4-3 at Molineux.

Goals from Andrey Santos, Tyrique George, Estevao Willian and Jamie Gittens helped Chelsea to reach the next round despite a Wolves fightback.

Enzo Maresca’s men are now set to take on League One side Cardiff City for a place in the semis.

The Blues will be strong favourites, but there is one player they are going to have to watch out for.

Callum Robinson’s insane record vs Chelsea

Chelsea’s trip to the Cardiff City Stadium will see them face Callum Robinson, a forward who has caused them absolute havoc in the past.

In fact, Robinson has never actually lost against the Club World Cup holders after playing them three times.

Across those games, the striker was able to score five goals, making himself a true enemy of Chelsea Football Club.

The Conference League winners should still have enough to get past Cardiff, especially if the likes of Gittens and Estevao play as they did at Molineux.

Thanks to their goals on Wednesday, Chelsea actually made a bit of history in English football.

It was the first time that a Premier League club had four different goalscorers aged 21 or below in a match in any competition.

Callum Robinson’s reaction to Cardiff City vs Chelsea tie

While Chelsea fans will not be, Robinson is looking forward to his reunion with the world champions.

After the Carabao Cup quarter-final draw was made, Robinson took to social media and shared a post about the Cardiff and Chelsea tie that included a few laughing emojis.

After all of the pain that the Republic of Ireland international has caused Chelsea supporters, hopefully Maresca’s side have the last laugh!

However, if they defend as they did against Wolves, they could be in big trouble, especially with Robinson around. He could end up punishing what has been a very unconvincing Chelsea backline this season.
