Opinion: Everton's Iliman Ndiaye must be laughing as Premier League drop official announcement

Everton winger Iliman Ndiaye has looked like one of the most in-form players across the league, which makes a fresh announcement from the Premier League even more baffling.

Although Everton have found themselves struggling to score in recent games despite the opportunities created by their Senegal international.

Ndiaye has played from the right wing this season on the back of Jack Grealish’s arrival over the summer.

During the game against Tottenham Hotspur at the weekend, Ndiaye silenced an in-form Djed Spence at left-back for the visitors.

The Senegal international is very quickly earning plaudits from across the league after another bright start to the season.

Some Premier League fans have said Ndiaye could win the Ballon d’Or at some point in his career; that’s how good he has been recently.

It seems his recent performances may have been overlooked slightly by some, though, with a fresh announcement landing from the Premier League.

Iliman Ndiaye snubbed for Premier League Player of the Month

Pat Nevin waxed lyrical about Ndiaye following his stunning display against Manchester City earlier in the month.

Despite tearing the City defence apart, Ndiaye did not walk away from the game with a goal or assist.

And it seems that has worked against him, with the latest Player of the Month nominee list surfacing and no Ndiaye to be seen.

The players who did make the cut were the following:

Matty Cash

Bruno Guimaraes

Erling Haaland

Eli Junior Kroupi

Bryan Mbeumo

Nordi Mukiele

Igor Thiago

Jurrien Timber

Ndiaye, despite many pundits praising his performances, has been snubbed after some stunning showings in the Premier League.

David Moyes has been wowed by Ndiaye in an Everton shirt this season, with the display against Man City particularly strong.

Although Ndiaye deserves his flowers, there is no harm from an Everton perspective in him going under the radar.

Iliman Ndiaye’s October was so impressive

The Toffees only had three games in October and only one win came from those games against Crystal Palace, Manchester City and Spurs.

However, Ndiaye shone in all three of them as he came away with a goal in the only victory of the month against the Eagles.

Ndiaye has looked to benefit from Grealish’s arrival, with the loanee offering him opportunities to score from crosses at the far post.

He may not have got on the scoresheet against either City or Spurs, but the Senegal international showed his quality.

Although Ndiaye is not one of Everton’s top earners, he is playing at a level that no other player on Merseyside is currently able to match.
