The Eagles (6-2) have now won two in a row after hitting a two-game skid, and have opened up a bit of breathing room in the NFC East as they’re the only team over .500. The Cowboys (3-4-1), Commanders (3-5), and Giants (2-6) all lost in Week 8, so things are setting up nicely for Philadelphia. Let’s dig into the Week 9 NFC East Power Rankings and see where things stand.

The Eagles avenged their Week 6 loss to the Giants 38-20 and did so in a convincing way as they tallied over 400 yards of total offense. Saquon Barkley finally broke out of his season-long slump with 150 rushing yards, and Tank Bigsby tacked on 104 rushing yards of his own. With A.J. Brown looking like he’ll be able to return to the lineup this week, the Eagles are close to firing on all cylinders.

#2 Dallas Cowboys (3-4-1)

The Cowboys have had an up-and-down season and haven’t won or lost two games in a row all year. They’re set to play back-to-back Monday Night Football games (with a bye week in between), and have a chance to be 5-4-1 when they face the Eagles in three weeks if they’re able to beat the Cardinals and Raiders.
#3 Washington Commanders (3-5)

The Commanders have fallen on hard times with injuries to Jayden Daniels, Terry McLaurin, and Deebo Samuel over the past few weeks. McLaurin and Samuel returned to the lineup in the 28-7 loss to the Chiefs, but the Commanders sorely need Jayden Daniels to return quickly as they’ve now lost three in a row – and four of their last five.
#4 New York Giants (2-6)

While the Giants have looked promising at times this season, they’ve now been bitten by the injury bug too many times. Both Malik Nabers and Cam Skattebo will miss the rest of the season, so there’s not much to look forward to for Giants fans. The focus of the 2025 season will now turn to the development of Jaxson Dart.

What’s Next?
The Eagles head into their bye week this weekend before heading to Green Bay to take on the NFC-leading Packers in Week 10. The Cowboys have a winnable Monday Night Football matchup with the Cardinals this weekend, while the Commanders have a tough home matchup against the Seahawks. The Giants will look to avoid their third-straight defeat as they host the 49ers.
