Yoane Wissa has been snapped joking with his Newcastle United teammates at the club’s training ground.
A heavily bandaged Yoane Wissa could be seen limping while training in Newcastle United’s gym.
Most importantly, the DR Congo international appears to be settling in well, laughing and joking with his new teammates. Wissa is yet to kick a ball - in a game or on the training pitch - since joining the Magpies.
He arrived for £55million from Brentford on deadline day but picked up a knee injury just days later. The setback came during DR Congo’s defeat to Senegal - with ACL fears soon emerging on social media.
Yoane Wissa ACL truth
NewcastleWorld understands the noise around Wissa’s setback had nothing to do with his ACL. In a world of online misinformation, this was never the case, with the 29-year-old actually tweaking his PCL.
An initial six-week lay-off was extended by a fortnight before the recent international break. Eddie Howe essentially confirmed Wissa would be out until early November - possibly against his former club Brentford.
Fresh injury concern
However, fresh footage from Will Osula’s Snapchat does not look too clever. Wissa - in good spirits - can be seen with heavy protection on his right knee.
He awkwardly limps into the distance after sharing a joke with fellow Toon newbie Malick Thiaw. To see him walking is a positive, but is this really a player who can feature in 10 days?
Watch the video for yourself to form your own opinion. On a positive note, Tino Livramento can be seen later in the clip with zero protection on his injured knee.

Eddie Howe provides Yoane Wissa update
Howe was again grilled on Wissa’s fitness before last night’s clash with Tottenham Hotspur. Toon fans are desperate to see the new No.9 in action to help ease the goalscoring burden on Nick Woltemade.
“I don't know, it's very difficult for me to give a game for you,” Howe said about Wissa’s return date. “Yoane’s in a different boat to the other two (Lewis Hall & Tino Livramento) because he's coming from further back fitness-wise. He's been out longer.
“Lewis's return will be quite quick, in the sense that once he's fit and available, he'll be back involved with the group. Same with Tino, really. Yoane, he's still on track but we need to make sure that he's gone through a mini pre-season with us as well.”
