Even though Tyrique George has made a useful impact so far this season, Chelsea supporters will be eager to see what happens with him in the January transfer window.
The transfer saga involving Blues attacker Tyrique George, 19, in the summer window was eventful.
George, who came through the Chelsea academy, was widely tipped to be on his way out of Stamford Bridge only for a deal to collapse in the final stages. Even though Fulham agreed to buy George late in the summer window, they pulled out of the move on deadline day.
It is a credit to the teenager that he’s successfully reintegrated into Enzo Maresca’s first-team squad.
Here is a look at George’s impressive contribution for Chelsea in the 2025-26 season so far despite not playing regularly:

Champions League 2 1 0 106
Carabao Cup 2 2 1 146

Tyrique George will decide his Chelsea future
According to The Daily Mail, Chelsea will hold discussions with George closer to the January window to work out his future.
Apparently, the versatile 19-year-old forward will have a ‘big say’ in whether he stays or goes.
It is explained that Joe Shields, Chelsea’s co-director of recruitment and talent, spoke with George after his move to Fulham collapsed to explain he would be welcomed back into the senior group. As you can see above, Enzo Maresca has used the academy graduate across every competition.
The report says that the Blues don’t intend to try and force George to exit in the mid-season window, either permanently or loan, but will hold talks with his camp to try to find a solution that suits all parties.
While contrasting reports claim that George is likely to leave Chelsea in January, let’s wait and see the outcome after conversations take place. Even if an exit has been on the cards, the player must admit he’s starting to make more of an impact at Stamford Bridge. The fact that Maresca prefers him as a centre-forward rather than a winger has definitely helped.

Tyrique George performance vs Wolves
On Wednesday night, George led the line for Chelsea and scored his third goal of the season in their 4-3 victory away to Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Carabao Cup.
Unlike some of his teammates, the English youngster wasn’t at his dazzling best in the cup tie. It is quite telling that he still managed to get on the scoresheet, though.
Here is a look at George’s individual stats from the Wolves clash via FOTMOB:
Minutes played – 76
Goals – 1
Assists – 0
Total shots – 2
Chances created – 0
Accurate passes – 18/22 (82%)
Touches – 27
Touches in opposition box – 2
Fouls committed – 1
Match rating – 7.6
If George does end up exiting in the New Year, we think he could be a smart addition for most Premier League clubs because he’s definitely got superb instincts in the final third.
