Everton U18s Comeback to Earn Dramatic Win in Merseyside Derby

Everton U18s came from a goal down to claim a dramatic 3-1 win in last night’s Merseyside Derby.

The young Toffees travelled for the game in fine form, but found themselves a goal down early on.

Liverpool midfielder AJ Yeguo gave his side a first half lead. Everton almost struck back through Demi Akarakiri whose effort hit the post.

Liverpool could’ve extended their lead before the interval, themselves hitting the woodwork. Everton keeper Douglass Lukjanciks kept the score at 1-0 to deny Erik Farkas.

It proved to be a vital save, as Everton found an equaliser shortly after, with Ray Robert restoring parity on 42 minutes.

Indeed, Robert now has four goals in his past five league games for Everton’s U18s as he continues his promising run of form.

Ceiran Loney gave the Toffees an early second half lead before Lukjanciks was on hand once more to keep Everton in front.

The home side contented to fight for an equaliser, but the Blues remained resolute and pushed for a third.

EVERTON YOUNGSTERS LOOK FULL OF CONFIDENCE

The coup de grace would come on 79 minutes, and Kean Wren scored his third goal of the past two outings.

Full of confidence from his brace at Derby County, Wren sealed the points for an outstanding away win.

With a number of young Everton players unavailable through international duty, the win is even more impressive.

Keith Southern’s side are now unbeaten in their last four games, with three wins and a draw.

The win puts the Blues fifth in the table, level on points with Liverpool, who remain in fourth on goal difference.

Next up is a trip to Newcastle United on Saturday afternoon. The Magpies are level on points with Everton and occupy sixth in the table.
