The early Man Utd team news to face Nottingham Forest in the Premier League this weekend.

Lisandro Martinez will not be available for selection when Manchester United face Nottingham Forest in the Premier League this weekend. Ruben Amorim’s side are back in action when they travel to the City Ground on Saturday afternoon in search of their fourth consecutive win.

The Argentine defender has been sidelined since he suffered a serious knee injury at the start of February but returned to full team training this week. United have been careful to ease Martinez back into action after such a long time out and do not want to take any unnecessary risks with his rehabilitation.

It means Martinez is expected to be given at least another week in full training before he is assessed ahead of the trip to face Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League next week.

Manchester United could be without two players when they face Nottingham Forest in the Premier League this weekend. Lisandro Martinez will not be risked after his recent return from a serious knee injury, while Harry Maguire is still a doubt after he missed the victory over Brighton last time out.

Maguire suffered a knock in the build-up to the Brighton game and was not named in the matchday squad last weekend. United are due to have one more training session ahead of their trip to the City Ground and Amorim will have to make a late call on whether the centre-back is involved.

Asked how close Martinez is to a return, Amorim said at his pre-match press conference: "He wants to go to this one, he is not going to this one. It is going to take time. He's done training with us, he does some things in the exercise for him. So slowly he's going to get better. He's really good, and he gives us that edge in every training session, which is also really good for us.

"The rest of the guys, we have one more day. I don't know about Harry Maguire. I think the rest are fit."
