Barcelona star Marc-André ter Stegen on Thursday took a significant step towards returning to the pitch.
This comes amid confirmation of the German taking his place back on the grass for individualised training.
Ter Stegen has for his part been sidelined since all the way back in July.
Dealing with a long-term back issue, the goalkeeper, alongside Barcelona, made the call to undergo a surgical procedure.
Ter Stegen, as a result, has been forced to sit out the early months of the new campaign.
As alluded to above, though, on Thursday, the 33-year-old took a considerable step back towards competitive action.
As per a report from **[Diario Sport](https://x.com/monfortcarlos/status/1983876448373932342)**, Ter Stegen has taken his place back on the grass at the Ciutat Esportiva.
The former Borussia Monchengladbach standout is yet to rejoin the rest of Hansi Flick’s squad in group training, but as much is expected over the coming weeks.
