Ruben Amorim admits that Sean Dyche may've been right when he claimed Manchester United would 'win more games' if he was in charge. United boss Amorim has only recently won three Premier League games in a row for the first time, despite taking charge of the Red Devils nearly a year ago, symbolic of his struggles at Old Trafford.
The Portuguese has been heavily criticised for sticking to his 3-4-2-1 formation which until now hasn't been getting results. Amorim used that shape to great success at Sporting Lisbon but he could only guide United to 15th in his first season, the club's lowest-ever Premier League finish.
In May, as the Red Devils' dreadful campaign was coming to an end, Dyche - now in charge of Nottingham Forest, who play United on Saturday - appeared on a podcast. The former Watford, Burnley and Everton boss claimed that if he was given the job, he'd do a better job than Amorim at the time.
At a press conference on Thursday, ahead of their meeting at the City Ground, Dyche's comments were put to Amorim. "First of all, maybe it's true if we play 4-4-2 we win more, but I always said that I have a way of playing that is going to take a while," the United manager replied.
"Then I can look at Sean Dyche as a manager and then as a pundit. If you are a pundit and you don't say very strong things, I don't want to watch you! So I can understand that it's a different job. I know that Sean Dyche is really smart and he knows how to play the game.
"He also understands that one thing is when we are seeing the game and talking about the game, the other thing is to coach a team. So I understand that, I have nothing to say, I just want to win the next game."
Dyche had accused Amorim of trying to 'over teach' his players when appearing on Stick to Football. "He (Amorim) better win some games - pretty quick," the 54-year-old said.

"I reckon if I went there and played my way, we'd win more games. Just 4-4-2 - give them basic rules of principles. They have some good players. You don't have to over teach everyone.
"I'd be interested more in the longer run, if he can stick to his principals and then next season, we're all going, 'Fair play' - but, he's been there a while now so you better start bringing some wins soon."
The pair will shake hands in the dugout before Saturday's 3pm kick-off, with their sides in very different situations. Amorim is looking for a fourth successive win while Dyche is aiming for his first league victory at Forest, having suffered a 2-0 loss away to high-flying Bournemouth last weekend.
