West Ham’s poor start to the season has left the club in a precarious position near the foot of the Premier League table.
With just one win in nine games, a leaky defence, and struggles to score, the Hammers are facing mounting pressure.
January’s transfer window could prove pivotal, giving Nuno Espírito Santo a chance to rebuild the squad, inject fresh energy across key positions, and offload dead wood.
Speaking of– one player who may be on the move is James Ward-Prowse, who has fallen out of favour under the Portuguese manager.

According to a report from The Times, Nuno has told West Ham officials he wants to offload the England international in January.
The 30-year-old midfielder, who arrived from Southampton in 2023 and was previously described as “fantastic” by former manager Graham Potter, has seen his role drastically reduced.
Ward-Prowse has been left out of the last four matchday squads, indicating that he no longer fits into Nuno’s tactical plans.
The Times adds that the club is aware of Nuno’s intentions, and a January sale would also help reduce the club’s wage bill, with Ward-Prowse earning £115,000 per week.
While losing a player of his quality would be a blow, it also provides the Hammers with potential funds to invest in the squad during a pivotal transfer window.
