Chelsea will face League One side Cardiff City in the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup after victory over Wolves on Wednesday night.
The Blues raced into a 3-0 lead by half-time at Molineux, with Andrey Santos, Tyrique George and Estevao all on the scoresheet.
The hosts pulled one back quickly after half-time, though, and soon found another to make it 3-2.
Jamie Gittens then added to his two assists by scoring his first goal for the club to extend Chelsea’s advantage to two goals, before Wolves once again pulled one back to make it 4-3.
Enzo Maresca’s side will now travel to Wales to face the Bluebirds in the last eight of the competition, but in the meantime it appears that Chelsea are planning to offer one of their defenders a new contract.
As per RMC Sport via CaughtOffside, the West London outfit are set to reward Frenchman Malo Gusto with a new deal, despite his stuttering start to the season.

The report claims that Chelsea believe regard the 22-year-old as an important player and want to secure his long-term future at Stamford Bridge.
Gusto joined Chelsea from French side Lyon in 2023 but has since struggled to establish himself as a guaranteed starter.
In total he has played 96 times for the club across all competitions, although he has started just four of their nine Premier League games so far this season and was sent off after receiving two yellow cards against Nottingham Forest earlier this month.
Gusto’s current contract is set to run until the end of the 2029/30 season, but the report suggests that Chelsea are set to begin talks to reward the player with a new deal in an effort to fend off interest from Italian side Juventus.
