There is no way to sugar coat it. The Cavaliers were steamrolled by the Celtics on Wednesday night. The team, as it stands, lacks an identity without Darius Garland. Which is understandable, however, it doesn’t explain the lackluster effort and production from Jarrett Allen and Evan Mobley.

Allen and Mobley were outrebounded by a smaller Boston Celtics team and frankly outhustled. Now, they need to reframe their focus against a much taller Toronto Raptors team. Cavaliers and Raptors games are usually known for their physicality, which to this point in the season, is a trait this current team lacks.

The talent gap between the two clubs should swing in the Cavaliers’ favor, however, this was also the case against the Celtics, and we all saw how that went. Kenny Atkinson must have been irate in those halftime and postgame huddles, and I hope it hit the team hard.

The Cavaliers aren’t playing for regular season accolades; however, they just can’t play middling basketball until Darius Garland and Max Strus come back. The team is way too talented to offer the types of games we have seen in four out of five games to start the season.

Friday’s game will be on FanDuel Sports Network Ohio. If you’re in the Cleveland TV market and want to watch this game for free with a one-month free trial to the FanDuel Sports Network App, you can do so by entering our code SBNFALL30.
