Former Barcelona midfielder and head coach Xavi Hernández has knocked back an approach to take up the managerial reins at Russian giants Spartak Moscow.
That’s according to **[Diario Sport](https://www.sport.es/es/noticias/barca/ultimo-club-rechazado-xavi-hernandez-123165228)**, citing ‘Metaratings.ru’, who have confirmed that the Spaniard has been sounded out as a replacement for the under-fire Dejan Stanković.
Xavi, however, has already made clear that he has little interest in the project.
This marks just the latest rejection on the part of a tactician who has now been out of work since all the way back in the summer of 2024.
Since bringing a close to his time in the dugout at Barcelona, Xavi is understood to have rejected a whole host of proposals from across Europe and beyond.
The likes of Manchester United, Ajax and Al-Ittihad have all previously been credited with an interest in the services of the 45-year-old.
It therefore remains to be seen if Xavi intends to step out of his managerial hiatus at all…
