John Wall and Brendan Haywood join Monumental Sports Network as Wizards broadcast analysts

On Thursday, Monumental Sports Network announced that former Washington Wizards players John Wall and Brendan Haywood will join the Wizards’ broadcast team for games in the 2025-26 season. Haywood will make his season debut on Nov. 1 when Washington hosts the Orlando Magic. Wall will make his on Saturday, Nov. 8 when the Wizards host the Dallas Mavericks.

In a press release, Zach Leonsis, , President of Media & New Enterprises at Monumental Sports & Entertainment said the following.

> John and Brendan are not only beloved figures in Wizards history, but they also bring a wealth of basketball knowledge, insight, and personality that fans will instantly connect with. We take great pride in featuring a strong roster of former players and team alumni across our Capitals, Wizards, and Mystics broadcasts — voices who truly understand what it means to represent D.C. John and Brendan will add invaluable perspective and expert analysis as this young Wizards team continues to grow and develop. We’re thrilled to have them both join our broadcast family and continue their connection to the D.C. community.

> Washington, D.C. will always be my second home. The city, the fans, and the Wizards organization have all played a huge role in my life and career. I’m excited to join Monumental Sports Network and the Wizards studio team as I continue the next chapter of my basketball journey and be back around the game in a place that means so much to me.

And Haywood added this brief statement.

> As a former Wizards player, I’m super excited to be back in D.C. and calling games for this young and exciting team. I can’t wait to share this new chapter with the fans and be part of the energy that’s building here.

Though Wall and Haywood are joining Monumental Sports Network, they aren’t replacing other analysts. Drew Gooden will remain the Wizards’ lead color analyst on live TV games while Glenn Consor will still have that role on the radio. Haywood, however, would be an additional broadcast analyst alongside Gooden and sideline reporter/analyst Meghan McPeak.

Wall will be on Wizards Pregame Live and Wizards Postgame Live which is still hosted by Wes All, along with other analysts like Christy Winters Scott, Jason Smith and Greivis Vasquez. Wall is also on Amazon Prime’s NBA coverage as well.
