Tottenham Hotspur plotting €60 million move for rival London ace

Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing West Ham United forward Jarrod Bowen

Tottenham Hotspur were dumped out of the Carabao Cup by holders Newcastle United on Wednesday evening. And once again, their problems in front of goal came to the floor.

Spurs created enough chances to score against Newcastle United and give them a tough fight. Richarlison laboured once again up top, and substitute Randal Kolo Muani could only show flashes of promise but no end substance. This has further raised question marks over the north Londoners lack of cutting edge in the final third.

Thomas Frank cannot rest on the laurels of a promising start to the Premier League season, which sees Tottenham third in the table. Signing a goalscoring forward has to be on the top of club’s agenda heading into the winter transfer window. It appears they actually have plans to sign one forward in 2026.

Tottenham ready to make big offer for West Ham United skipper

According to a report from Fichajes, Tottenham have set their sights on West Ham United star Jarrod Bowen. They are ready to offer up to €60 million to strike a deal with the Hammers for their skipper.

Jarrod Bowen has among the most consistent forwards in the Premier League for many years now. The England international has been the standout performer for West Ham, spearheading their attack for several seasons. He has registered 77 goals and 53 assists in 248 games for the Irons, and despite the team in horrendous, Bowen has been their best player this term with four goal contributions in nine Premier League outings.

Under new boss Nuno Espirito Santo, West Ham are stuck in the relegation zone and survival is the main agenda. Santo knows how vital Bowen is to his team and the Hammers’ chances of staying in the Premier League. The club chiefs are well aware of the forward’s value as well and do not wish to lose him in the January transfer window. But next summer, they might end up selling the English star if they receive an offer that meets their expectations, the report adds.

Spurs must convince Bowen of their project

Spurs raised plenty of eyebrows when they succeeded in signing Mohammed Kudus from London rivals West Ham in the summer. Kudus has quickly settled in at White Hart Lane, becoming one of the first names on Frank’s teamsheet. The Ghanaian has been excellent with four assists and a goal in nine league outings for Tottenham.

Just like they did with Kudus, Frank has to convince West Ham’s Bowen of the project mushrooming in north London. At 28, Bowen would harbour hopes of playing at the highest level and competing with the best players in the Champions League. And the Lilywhites could fulfil that, whilst providing him with a platform to win trophies.

In return, the England international would provide goals and assists to a Spurs side struggling to unlock teams without set-plays. Bowen is at the peak of his powers and would be able to immediately make a difference at Tottenham. However, one obstacle the north Londoners could face in the pursuit of the player is his loyalty to the Hammers. He loves West Ham and the West Ham fans love him.

Keeping that in mind, the Hotspur Way chiefs have to come up with a unique strategy to tempt the West Ham skipper to join Frank’s forces.
