Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green is no stranger to riling up New York Knicks fans, and his latest comments will surely ruffle some feathers once again.
In the latest edition of The Draymond Green Show, Green said that he doesn’t believe the Knicks are true contenders, criticizing the team as they start the 2025-26 season amongst the NBA’s top teams.
“The Knicks, I just don’t believe that they’re contenders,” Green said. “I don’t think they have what it takes to win at the highest level. I think you can stifle their offense, and make it hard on them. I just think ultimately, guys that don’t really want to defend, it makes it tough to win at the highest level.
Green has long been a critic of the Knicks, for reasons unknown. The Knicks and Green have no particular history other than his monthly mentions, and the two teams face each other at most twice a year. Nonetheless, the Knicks have started the season 2-2, and have suffered back-to-back losses to the Miami Heat, and Milwaukee Bucks. They’ll look to right the ship this week when they face off with the undefeated Chicago Bulls on Friday.
