Newcastle United are putting safety first after sending a statement to supporters who gather outside the training ground.
The Newcastle United training ground was often pictured on television and on social media during a dramatic summer transfer window.
Indeed, Alexander Isak’s movements to and from Darsley Park in Benton were captured throughout a draining transfer saga which ultimately led to him leaving for Liverpool.
Supporters have generally always been seen outside the training ground, eager to see the likes of Eddie Howe and the rest of the Newcastle United squad either going to or leaving work.
Still, the club have released an official statement in an effort to protect the safety of all involved.

On Thursday, a statement was posted onto Newcastle United’s official website.
The club are asking fans not to gather outside the training ground to protect their own safety, as well as that of the coaches, management and players.
Newcastle also confirmed they have instructed players and coaches not to stop their vehicles upon entry or exit of the training ground.

A club statement read: “To ensure the safety of all supporters, players, staff and members of the public, we are asking people to avoid gathering at our Training Centre entrance and surrounding roadways.
The only entrance for players, staff, deliveries and construction vehicles to the current Training Centre site is a narrow, single public lane that is shared by vehicles and pedestrians.

“To support public safety, we have instructed players and coaches not to stop their vehicles upon entry or exit.
“We do not take this step lightly. We value the incredibly strong connection that exists between supporters and our players and coaches. But safety must come first, and we trust our fans will support the club, players and staff by adhering to this request.
“We will continue to organise opportunities for supporters to meet the players through the season, which will be communicated through newcastleunited.com and official channels. As the number of people gathering at the Training Centre increases, so too does the risk of serious injury with so many vehicles and people sharing a small space.
“As crowds gather, people are stepping into the lane and creating a risk to their own safety and to road users. Individuals also continued to pose a risk to themselves and others by entering busy roads to approach players’ vehicles while at traffic lights up to a kilometre away.”
What’s the latest on Newcastle United’s new training ground?
Newcastle owners PIF plan to build a new training ground, although official progress on that has been slow.
Earlier this month, The Daily Mail suggested that a spot located in Seaton Burn near the Holiday Inn roundabout is the favoured spot for a potential new training complex.
There could reportedly be an announcement made before Christmas, although that has not yet been confirmed.
Clearly, it’s a project that will take years to develop but supporters will be keen to hear all about it, amid a belief that Newcastle’s current training set-up is not of the standard of some of their Premier League and European rivals.
