Eagles trade rumor reveals big fish Howie Roseman is hoping to land at the deadline

Leave it to Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman to be on the look out for a franchise-altering trade.

Roseman has made several big deals over the years and now he has his sights set on another: trading for Cleveland Browns superstar edge rusher Myles Garrett.

The rumor comes from Yahoo's Charles Robinson, who says that he's hearing the Eagles general manager is "super hot" for Garrett and is willing to part ways with three first-round draft picks in order to reel in the big fish.

Unfortunately, Robinson notes he's hearing Garrett is not available.

“Rumor going around... and I have not heard it out of the Eagles, but I’ve heard it from a couple of other super high-ranking people in other teams that are clearly on the phones," Robinson said on 102.5 The Game in Nashville.

"That Howie Roseman and the Eagles are super hot after Myles Garrett. That Howie would give up, like, three first-round picks for him.”

The Eagles have a massive need along the edge, especially after the retirement of Za'Darius Smith, which was unexpected to say the least.

The return of Brandon Graham will help, but there's no telling how much he has left in the tank and even if he returns to form, he may still not be enough.

It goes without saying Garrett would instantly shore up the position, as he's arguably the league's best edge rusher.

But, as Robinson noted, Garrett is not available, which is backed up by ESPN's Adam Schefter, who has reported that a source told him there's "no chance" the Browns move Garrett.

“People have a better chance of winning the lottery," the source told Schefter.

Another source of motivation for the Browns to keep Garrett is they would be hit with a massive dead-cap charge in 2026, which will obviously make building up the roster much harder.

Now, none of this is to say the Browns won't trade Garrett eventually, and it actually feels inevitable with how frustrated he was during last Sunday's loss.

But we just don't see it happening before the Nov. 4 trade deadline.
